When asked why the 7th Symphony was more popular than the 8th, Beethoven replied that it was because the 8th was so much better than the 7th- I'll leave that for you to decide- Keeping with Beethoven's M.O., this work features many loud-quiet dynamics- the sparkling strings and the orchestra work in call and response volleys, lifting the melody to ever higher bursts of ornamentation. Beethoven also eschews the "Classic" symphonic rules in that the final movement is the most elaborate of the four. There is a underlying wry sense of humor throughout this work that, coupled with the obvious joy the symphony is to play, feels as if the players have let you in on the joke. Beethoven's dynamic 7th Symphony, is faithfully reproduced by the magnificent Frequency Orchestra. By this time in his career Beethoven was getting the respect he felt he deserved and this symphony was very successful, no doubt because of the utter joy the performers had playing the magnificent piece.
It is said that Beethoven himself leapt with pride and happiness from the rostrum at the conclusion of the first performance. Utilizing Beethoven's Quiet-Loud motif, this dynamic work is for the most part fast and furious, the second movement is marked as "slow' but it is slow only in comparison to the other 3 movements, the full orchestra paints with bold, colorful strokes, strings and winds add gossamer ribbons between the towering blasts. The dynamics, melody, and rhythms conspire to produce such an emotive and catchy work that you can't help but get caught up in the explosive fun. Composer Sheldon Conrich, uses an interesting musical build in the album Promos Vol 4. The compositions are pretty jazzy and classical, yet he stays in the rock genre, not crossing many boundaries. Interesting effects used in a number of songs. interesting to note that the panning on some of these effects, comes at us from different directions, and is unexpected at times. There are some great pieces for a summery/breezy feeling and some quite emotional and spiritual pieces as well. Overall, a great album of easy listening with great music. The Four movements of Beethovens Piano Sonata Number 1, go through a variety of musical themes. The first movement is a peaceful piece of easy listening, where a sequence is played up and down the scales in a peaceful manner.
