Ludwig Van Beethoven's lavishly spirited and thoroughly brusque Concerto For Piano and Orchestra 1 in C Major, his first such piece. Premiered in Prague at the close of the 18th Century with the frenetic composer himself on piano, the feverish pace in the restless First Movement breaks for a slow, prayerful reprieve in the second, before swelling into a friendly chase of strings for a typically outlandish and humorously turbulent finish.
