Verdi's only requiem is one of the most famous in the world, with its magnificent contrasts between intensity and peacefulness. Various soli from all four vocal parts are featured throughout, as well as heavy orchestration, rushing strings, and thunderous timpani, with powerful choral sections rounding out the entirety of the requiem.
