The oboe d'amore is a slightly larger, lower pitched oboe used most frequently in the Baroque era and at the end of the nineteenth century, with no one using it more than Johann Sebastian Bach. Its rich sounds, similar to that of a an alto saxophone, cane be heard here, along with a prominent harpsichord part.
